MMO Prototype - Phase TWO

I'm a little late but I managed to finish the prep work to finally present to you a "playable" public build of the prototype. I didn't get the VPS that I originally wanted to host the game, so the specs of the server is much, much less powerful than ideal but it should still be a good test to see if my code holds up.

So here is the playable map for now:

As you can see from the image above, I've set up 2 instanced zones (coloured in cyan and magenta) while everything else is open world. Place houses, trees, lamps, boxes.. turn lamps on and off, open doors, cut trees. Instanced zones are currently private, you won't be able to see other people inside these areas if you're inside one yourself. I've currently disabled the ability to place any object in instanced areas but you can stillinteract with the objects already there.

Chat should be working; I didn't get the chance to test it too much.

You can't see the names of other players until they've shared it with you. To share your name, walk up to a player and press [N].

The controls are as followed:

  • WASD movement, [Left-shift] to sprint. Mouse-look to walk in a direction.

  • To interact with an object, look at the object and press [E].

  • To place an object, press [P] to activate placement mode, look at where you want the object to be and then press [F] to place the object down. the 0,1,2,3 keys selects the type of object.

  • To move an object, press [M] to activate deco mode, look at the object, press [E] to select the object, look at another location and press [F] to place the object down.

  • To remove an object, press [M] to activate deco mode, look at the object, press [E] to select the object and press [E] again to remove it.

Don't worry too much about your account name and password. They get wiped at server shutdown/update. If you get stuck, make a completely new account.

The idea is to stress test, so don't hesitate to mess around with it. I'll catalogue as many bugs as I can. To stress test even further, lets try and organize a date and time in order to get as many people as we can at the same time. I also wouldn't mind getting feedback on the scale of the zone (it's one of the largest).

Thank you.
